CASA CRUZ, LONDON

Casa Cruz is a handsome, warm and intimate neighbourhood restaurant in London’s Notting Hill. The Casa Cruz philosophy is to be a “home-away-from-home” for all. The menu is inspired by South American cuisines, interpreted with a European sensibility.

JUAN SANTA CRUZ.

Juan Santa Cruz is a designer, restaurateur and founder of the Santa Cruz Co, which is focused on the design, development and operation of restaurants and bars internationally. Santa Cruz opened his first restaurant, Casa Cruz, in Buenos Aires in 2004, following a decade in investment banking and private equity. Casa Cruz soon became one of the most desired restaurants in Buenos Aires. Its success was followed by the opening of Isabel and Aldo’s, individual concepts that themselves were admired and celebrated.

In 2015, Santa Cruz launched Casa Cruz in London’s Notting Hill, his first restaurant in London. The restaurant was met with immediate success and two years later the company added another property to its portfolio with the launch of Isabel on Albemarle Street in Mayfair. By 2019, the Santa Cruz Co. opened its third concept in London, Nathalie, a food on-the-go deli. Simultaneously, the company is in the development phase for Casa Cruz New York, on East 61st Street between Park and Madison Avenue. Scheduled to open in 2020, Casa Cruz New York will not be Santa Cruz Co.’s first foray into the USA. In 2016, the company presented a Casa Cruz ‘pop-up’ concept in New York’s Tribeca which was so popular the length of its temporary run was doubled due to popular demand.

Biography

Juan Santa Cruz was born in Chile and was educated in Switzerland. Attending Babson College in Boston, he graduated cum laude with honours, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Finance, Investments and Economics. Juan Santa Cruz joined Bankers Trust in New York City where he specialised in acquisition financing. In 2000 Santa Cruz became Partner of The Exxel Group in Buenos Aires, at the time Latin America’s largest private equity fund.

In 2002, with a keen interest and passion for hospitality and design, Santa Cruz left the world of finance to follow an entrepreneurial and creative path with the establishment of Santa Cruz Co.
